We had all hopped and prayed this day would never come.

The pain is real and it hurts real bad.

My heart and deepest sympathy goes out to the Ganz family.

Mission statement:

Racing to find the cure For Macy:  Together we can help end childhood cancer

There are times in your life that you can no longer sit back, and helplessly look on as people you, know, love and care about are in pain suffering from childhood cancer.

No child, family, friend, extended family or people you do not even know should be affected by this life threatening disease.

One in every 330 Americans will develop cancer by the age of 20. On the average, 12,500 children and adolescents in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer each year nearly 350 per day

The good news up to 70 percent of all children with cancer can be cured.

Do the math, make a difference, help find the cure, safe a life or many lives and donate.

About Macy

In March 2008, Macy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Clear Cell Sarcoma of the Kidney.  She completed aggresive chemo and radiation therapy.  At the end of treatment, the CCSK had spread to her brain.  She went through surgery and additional therapy and spent the summer of 2009 cancer-free.  In September 2009, we discovered she developed AML (Leukemia), requiring additional chemo and a stem cell transplant.

Childhood Cancer Facts

One in 330 children will develop cancer by age 20

The cause of most childhood cancers are unknown and at present, cannot be prevented.

On the average, 12,500 children and adolescents in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer each year nearly 350 per day

Cancer in childhood occurs regularly, randomly, and spares no ethnic group, socioeconomic class, or geographic region.

Childhood Cancers are cancers that primarily affect children, teens, and young adults. When cancer strikes children and young adults it affects them differently than it would an adult.

Childhood cancers are the #1 disease killer of children - more than asthma, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, and pediatric AIDS combined.

On average a treatment for childhood cancer diagnosis is two years

Cancer treatment can cause serious side effects that may last a lifetime

Research on the emotional impact of childhood cancer finds that parents and siblings report even greater long term emotional impacts than the diagnosed child

Today, up to 70% of the children with cancer can be cured, yet, some forms of childhood cancers have proven so resistant to treatment that, in spite of research, a cure is illusive.

While the cancer death rate has dropped more dramatically for children than for any other age group, 2,300 children and teenagers will die each year from cancer.
